Selected by the professional bed bug exterminators behind Bedbug HQ, from more than 10,000 services and treatments of field experience. A mattress encasement works by sealing the mattress on all six sides, so bed bugs cannot reach the surface, the seams or the piping where they normally shelter. This one uses a tight-knit barrier fabric with a polyurethane laminate backing, and a zipper that runs the full perimeter of the mattress. The knitted face is quiet and breathable rather than crinkly plastic, and the laminate backing keeps spills, sweat and accidents off the mattress. Deep pockets stretch to fit mattresses 12 to 15 inches deep. It slips on like a fitted sheet and zips fully closed in minutes. The surface is plain and light coloured, with no piping, tags or folds, so a routine inspection of the mattress takes seconds. Machine wash warm and tumble dry low. The encasement itself does not need hot drying - it stays on the mattress and works as a sealed barrier. Available in Twin, Full, Queen and King.
