Details: Salicaceae Purpurea, also known as the Purple Willow or Red Willow, is a species of deciduous tree that is native to North America and Europe. The tree is known for its striking, deep purple shoots and branches, which are highly prized for their ornamental value.

In the culinary world, the bark of the Purple Willow tree has been used to make a traditional beverage known as Salicin tea. This tea is made by boiling the bark in water and can be enjoyed either hot or cold. Salicin tea is known for its slightly bitter taste and is often sweetened with sugar or honey.

Brewing Salicin tea is a simple process that involves boiling the bark of the Purple Willow (Salicaceae Purpurea) tree. Here's how you can make your own Salicin tea:

Ingredients:
2 cups of water
2 to 3 pieces of Purple Willow bark
Sugar or honey (optional)

Instructions:
Use 2 heaped teaspoons of our Red Willow bark and rinse them under running water.
Fill a pot with 2 cups of water and bring it to a boil.
Add the Red Willow bark to the boiling water and reduce the heat to a low simmer.
Let the bark simmer for about 10 to 15 minutes, or until the water has taken on a slightly bitter flavor.
Remove the pot from heat and let the tea steep for another 5 minutes.
Strain the tea into a cup and discard the bark.
Sweeten the tea to taste, if desired, with sugar or honey.

Enjoy your hot or cold Salicin tea, which is known for its slightly bitter taste. You can also add other herbs or spices to enhance the flavor, such as mint or cinnamon. Happy brewing!
