BED PILLOW SIZE GUIDE
Standard - A standard size pillow fits well for a twin/single bed. Two standard size pillows will fit perfectly for a double/full bed, and also suitable for a queen bed.
Queen - As the name suggest, two queen size pillows are designed to fit the queen bed. However, queen size pillows will sit nicely side by side for a double/full bed.
King - Likewise, two king size pillows are ideally for the full look on a king bed. A king size pillow can also be set on a twin/single bed which will neatly cover the width.
Body Pillow - Body pillow is significantly larger than any other sizes, that will fit across a queen or king bed. This style is designed to support the body, as it curve to fit your body's shape, makes it ideal for side sleeper.
Euro Pillow - Euro pillow can be used behind the back or neck while watching TV or reading in bed. It is usually less of a support choice and more of an aesthetic one. It will create a sophisticated and formal look by stacking them behind the regular pillows.
HOW TO STYLE BED PILLOWS
Start with sleeping pillows - We recommend 4 sleeping pillows, the back row to be different than the front row, always coordinate color and patterns.
Add in decorative throw pillow - Here are some formulas of the arrangements we think look the best.
Option 1: Add 2 larger square throw pillows, then add another 2 smaller square throw pillows in the front
Option 2: Add 2 square throw pillows, then add another 2 lumbar pillows in the front
Option 3: Add 2 square throw pillows, then add 1 extra long lumbar pillow in the front
Stack euro pillow in the back - For queen and king beds, stack 2 euro pillows in the back to achieve a sophisticated look. If you have a tall headboard of full and twin bed, euro pillow will do the trick too.
Why do we choose down alternative filling
Down-alternative is synthetic form of nature down,usually constructed with polyester or microfiber filling. Microfiber is softer and more breathable, but less durable than polyester. In general, microfiber is more suitable for bedding, and polyester is more suitable for filling.
Different types of polyester can cost widely different. In the home textile, we commonly use 1.5D-15D fibers as filling, D(denier) is a unit of measure of linear mass density of fibers. The smaller the number, the thinner the fiber, in other word, finer, softer, fluffier, and relatively more expensive.
Because of the properties of different fibers, generally we use 1.5D-3D fibers as duvet filling, 3D-7D fibers as pillow filling, 15D fibers as stuffy toys or furniture fillings.
Why do we choose goose down and feather filling
Generally, goose down and feather is considered the more luxurious, durable, higher quality and premium filling. Pure feathers are a popular choice for throw pillows, feathers combined with a percentage of down, makes for an incredibly comfortable sleeping pillow.
Goose down and feather has less or even no odor compared to duck. Duck down and feather has great tendency to have odor if exposure to moisture. Goose down and feather also tends to be less greasy, that duck down and feather has a naturally oily texture.
Goose down clusters are larger than duck down clusters. Consequently, the large filament of goose down has better insulation, which results in the only type can be used for high fill power.
